Allusion Photography

Your wedding day is going to be quite hectic – so you really need to give it a good head start by gathering with your bridesmaids and having a bit of fun as you are getting ready for the big moment ahead of you.

How to sprinkle everything with a bit uniqueness and excitement? We have gathered some cute ideas you and your bridesmaids will love – so read on and find out more.

  • Sporty tank tops. Are you and your ladies the kind of girls who really like being comfortable? Get some color-matched tank tops for you and your bridesmaids and accessorize them with delicate bows for an adorable and fashionable effect. It will look so great in the pictures!
  • Silky bathrobes. They always work and they always have the power to put a smile on a lady’s face – so they will surely make for a more than welcomed gift for your bridesmaids. Choose bathrobes that match each other in style and color, so that you all look fabulous in the pictures!
  • Flannel shirts. For a comfy and tomboyish effect, buy flannel shirts for your entire wedding party. Make them color-coordinated for your bridesmaids and choose a shirt that’s a bit different for you, so that you create a nice and stylish effect for the “Getting Ready” photos.
  • Personalized makeup or emergency kit bags. Offer your bridesmaids something they will use again – such as a unique makeup bag or an emergency kit that contains everything they may need in case of an emergency (such as if the dress gets torn or stained, for example). Make sure you know how to hire a wedding officiant!

Allusion Photography

Your wedding ceremony is, in fact, the pillar of your entire wedding day. Of course, you want every second of this special moment in your life to be absolutely perfect – and hiring the right wedding officiant is more than important when it comes to this.

How to do that? How to find a wedding officiant you can actually resonate with? We have gathered some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

  • First of all, decide whether you want your officiant to be religious or not. If you want to get married in a house of worship and already belong to a specific denomination and congregation, choosing the right officiant will be a lot easier for you.

Allusion Photography 2

  • If you want to have a religious wedding, but don’t belong to any house of worship, think well before you make steps in this direction. Choose a religious denomination that reflects your beliefs and talk to a representative to see what’s needed to get married in their house of worship.

  • If, on the other hand, you want to have a civil ceremony, there are a lot of options you can choose from. Notaries, lawyers, mayor and even friends and family members can officiate weddings in a completely legal way. However, before you settle for an option, check with your state’s legislation and make sure it can be done! The last thing you want is to discover your wedding cannot be legally recognized!

Allusion Photography captures candid, romantic and unforgettable wedding moments – so if you want your Big Day to be gorgeously “archived”, contact us and find out more about our services. We are here to make sure your wedding will never be forgotten and that its most beautiful parts are elegantly included in your wedding album!

Flowers are gorgeous! But there are some things you should know about them when planning your wedding.

Allusion Photography

Undoubtedly, flowers are a very important part of the wedding – especially since they set the celebratory feeling of the day. What are some of the essential things every bride-to-be should know about flowers when planning her wedding? We have gathered them right below – so read on to find out more.

  • Your flower proposal will sound like a poem. Really, it will be written beautifully and it will be almost as melodious as a poem and as romantic as a fairytale. Don’t get too carried away, though! Read attentively, focus on the details and make sure you clear out any confusions now, before you sign on the dotted line!

  • Not to make you feel anxious, but you will most likely not see your flower arrangements until the big day. This is perfectly normal, considering you want your flowers to be fresh and vibrant – not withered and “sad”. Find a reliable wedding florist and trust her expertise – your flowers will look absolutely gorgeous!

Allusion Photography 2

  • There will be at least one detail that will really stress you out. Your florist may not find the blooms you wanted or the shade you wanted. Your chosen flowers may be in off-season and too expensive for your budget. Whatever it is, rest assured that a good florist will help you find solutions that work excellently for you. In the end, you will love the “replacements” just as much (if not more!) than what you originally had in mind.

Be sure your groomsmen have the right boutonnieres for Spring!

Allusion Photography

You and your groom are the most important “parts” of the Big Day. But you surely believe your wedding party is very important too! How to create superb boutonnieres for your groomsmen and how to make sure they are inspired by the warm season outside? We have gathered some ideas to inspire you, so read on and find out more:

  • These pretty non-floral elements have been very popular in the last few years – and we can definitely see why. They are unique and they make for the perfect pieces of décor for a rustic-chic wedding. So, if you want a wedding inspired by the country side, boutonnieres that incorporate succulents and greenery would be a really wonderful choice!
  • With its amazing fragrance and delicate looks, lavender couldn’t be more suitable for a wedding in the warm season. Match sprigs of lavender with purple white spider mums to create beautiful summer-y boutonnieres for the groomsmen.
  • They have been increasingly popular with weddings too – and truth be told, they can be absolutely gorgeous. Wild and delicate at the same time, wildflowers are the perfect complement for a wedding that’s casual and unique at the same time – so they will surely look amazing as boutonnieres too.
  • White roses. Classy and pure, white roses are an all-time wedding favorite – so it is worth considering the option if you want your wedding to be traditionally elegant and fancy. Pair mini white roses with ribbons that match your wedding color and your groomsmen’s boutonniere will look really beautiful!

Consider a naked wedding cake for your wedding!

allusion

Gorgeous and delicious, wedding cakes are among the most important “Big Day elements” for brides and grooms from all over the world. Why are naked wedding cakes such a huge trend right now? What is it that makes them so beautiful, so popular and, in the end, so versatile?

We have gathered some ideas you might want to keep in mind – so read on and find out more about naked wedding cakes.

  • In very brief terms, naked wedding cakes are cakes that don’t have frosting. This might have been odd just a few years ago – but with this trend growing more and more popular, we can see just how beautiful a “frostless cake” can look.

  • The best part about these cakes is that they look very natural and inspiring. They come in a very wide range of flavors and fillings, so they can satisfy even the pickiest guests. What’s more, they can be decorated in a multitude of ways too: with powdered sugar, fresh fruit or even beautiful blooms. All in all, these cakes are the perfect complement for a rustic chic, shabby chic or simply an outdoor wedding.

  • Naked wedding cakes also come in all sizes too. From very high towers of deliciousness to short stacks of elegance and grace, these cakes are suitable for weddings of all sizes. Even more, if you cannot decide on one cake only, you can definitely have more of the smaller naked cakes (which also leaves your guests with more options to choose from).

Spring has arrived! And what better way to celebrate than incorporating it into your wedding?!

Allusion Photography

As one of the most beautiful and most loved seasons, spring is an all-time favorite among brides of all kinds – and if you’re one of the ones who have chosen to tie the knot in this splendid season, you know very well why it makes for the perfect option.

How to incorporate the delicacy and elegance of spring into your Big Day? Here are some ideas you will love:

  • Flowery ceremony. Your wedding ceremony is one of the most important moments of your life – so you will surely want to create a décor for it that speaks about the importance of this event. For an awe-inspiring ceremony décor, we suggest you go wild on your florals: lush bouquets to line up the aisle, flower-decorated chuppahs and even flower petals for the aisle make for wow décor pieces everyone will love.
  • Low-rise centerpieces. Of course, tall centerpieces are still an elegant choice – but why not make your wedding centerpieces a bit more unique by going for the low-rise ones? The secret to creating elegant low-rise centerpieces is to choose arrangements that are very opulent and generous.
  • Special chairs. Your wedding reception décor is not consisted of centerpieces only – so make sure to bring spring into every detail of this special party. For example, chairs with floral prints on them will look extremely beautiful when paired with simpler table linens and flower centerpieces that go with the prints on the chairs.

Being the mother-of-the-bride is a big deal! Make sure you are aware of your duties

Allusion Photography

As a mother, you want your daughter to be happy – and, on her wedding day, you want to make sure she feels like the true princess she is. What are some of your duties as the mother-of-the-bride? What are some of the things you are expected to do before and during the wedding? We have gathered some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

  • Help with the wedding registry. Since your daughter shouldn’t include wedding registry information on the invitations, it is up to you, the groom’s mother and the couple’s close friends to spread the news. This way, guests have the opportunity of buying something the bride and the groom will truly love.
  • Walk her down the aisle. In traditional Christian weddings, the father is the one to “give the bride away”. However, if he cannot be there or if the bride chooses to honor you as well, you might be expected to walk down the aisle with her.
  • Be part of the receiving line. Traditionally, the mother-of-the-bride is the hostess of the wedding – so she is also the first in the receiving line. Be there with a warm smile on your face to help your daughter receive the guests and make them feel truly welcomed!
  • Be a very good friend. You love your daughter more than anyone else in this world – and more than anyone too, you also know what she’s going through. Be her support, her friend and her shoulder to cry on as the big day unfolds – you will both remember these moments as some of the most candid and sentimental ones you have ever had!

Allusion Photography can help you capture precisely these moments: the seconds of wordless emotion that will sprinkle your big day with tears of joy. Contact us, find out more about who we are and hire us for your wedding!

Make sure your wedding reception follows an appropriate timeline

Allusion Photography

Your wedding day is going to be an absolutely unforgettable event in your life. Starting from the moment you open your eyes on the big day and ending with the moment you are back in your hotel room. This day is going to be exciting, exhausting and slightly scary as well.

Creating a thorough wedding reception timeline can help you put all the wedding highlights in the right order and give you some clarity of mind as well – Do you however know the appropriate steps your reception timeline should follow? Read on and find out more.

  • The cocktail hour. As the name suggests, this is the first part of the reception and it will last for approximately one hour. This is the time for you to get away with your photographer and shoot some photos, while your guests indulge in snacks and drinks.
  • The introductions and the cake cutting. This shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes total – and it usually involves mentioning the parents, the wedding party and announcing the entrance of the couple. The intros are usually followed up by the cake cutting. The reason this is after the introductions is so the vendor can then have the cake cut into individual pieces and ready to be served for desert immediately after dinner.  After the cake cutting comes the wedding toasts (which shouldn’t last for more than 10-15 minutes total).
  • The dinner and the party. Once the toasts are over, the first course is served. The dinner itself lasts for about 1 hour or so and it is followed by another 1 and a half hours of dancing. Of course, the timings are approximate, but if you have rented the venue for a very specific number of hours, you should try to stick to a stricter timeline.
  • 1st Dances – The night is usually kicked off by the bride and Grooms first dance followed by the father /daughter and the mother/son dances.
  • The bouquet and garter – The DJ usually saves this for the end of the night.  This is followed up by about 1 hour of dancing and a farewell to the bride and groom.

Be unique when creating your signature wedding cocktails!

Allusion Photography

Your wedding should reflect who you are, what your style is and what your love story is all about. From the colors you choose to the flowers that decorate the Big Day, everything about this event should be about you – and your cocktails make no exception from the rule.

To help you serve excellent cocktails at your wedding (and make your guests happy), we have gathered some of the most delicious and unique ideas right below – so read on and find out more.

  • Popsicle cocktails. Perfect for a summer wedding, popsicle cocktails are fun, unique and really tasty. Basically, any cocktail can be turned into a playful popsicle – so whatever your favorite drink may be, you can definitely pull this off. Your guests will love the idea!
  • Vintage cocktails. Planning a vintage-inspired wedding? Make sure your cocktails are inspired by the old times too! For example, a cocktail inspired by the Prohibition era can be a really tasty surprise for your guests.
  • Craft beers. If you plan on having a more casual wedding, don’t be afraid to replace the more traditional cocktails with beer. Serving a good variety of delicious craft beers is guaranteed to satisfy your guests’ tastes.
  • Ice tea. If you don’t want to serve alcohol at your wedding (or if you want to provide all of your guests with non-alcoholic options too), ice tea is a very good idea. It is delicious, refreshing and it allows you to provide your guests with a wide range of options to choose from.
