Engagement Photography for John and Mallory
Enagagement date: October
Locations: North Western University in Chicago, North St Beach in Chicago, Tommy Nevin’s Pub in Evanston
I had so much fun photographing my couple from Evanston! John and Mallory met in college before they became engaged. When the two of them and Mallory’s parents walked in my office for a consult I knew this was a wedding I wanted to be a part of. Such a beautiful couple and wonderfully supportive parents. Just in the short time we have worked together I have become incredibly close with the family. Not only discussing the wedding but our lives as well. I truly believe in not only creating a great product for my clients but getting to know them as much as they will let me in. This family has really made me feel as though we have known each other for a lifetime. I love how much everyone is involved and how they care so much for this event.
We spent the day around Chicago. Not the normal Chicago everyone sees in the photos but a bit more intimate geared toward the two of them. The first stop was North Western University where the two of them met. We took several pictures here in many different locations. I think the most memorable for us all will be the photographs of John and Mallory signing the rock. Most students do this for fun, however neither of them had ever done this. I had them both write a message to each other on this rock and it was a great first moment that I got to share with the both of them. We then headed to the beach where we faught the cold weather and really got some incredible photographs. At one point we thought we could train the birds near the water to fly away on key…we were very wrong about that. It was quite a funny venture and a story I will have for a very long time. Lots of laughs and redos with that shot. In the end we did finally get what I believe to be one of the photos of the birds flying off while they were walking along the shore. We headed off to Nevin’s Pub where John and Mallory celebrated their engagement. The owners gave us permission to do some shots on the inside which made a perfect wrap up for our day in Chicago. This is one session that will remain with me forever!
